And that doesn’t just mean physical safety.
It also means social and emotional safety.
We learn early on that certain things can have consequences.
Being judged. Being rejected. Feeling embarrassed. Losing connection.
So we adjust.
We think things through.
We avoid what feels risky.
That makes sense.
But when this goes too far, being careful turns into being stuck.
And the very thing that’s trying to protect you starts to hold you back.
